Until 2008, The Tsum valley situated in the northern part of Manaslu was a restricted area. The trekking route and trails was uncovered not long ago which makes this region undiscovered and worth traveling to. The religion, lifestyle, art, monasteries, prayer flags all portrays the Tibetan culture because Tsum valley was once a part of Tibet . This valley is totally contrasting from all the hiking ways as one can find variation in lifestyle and culture along with varied climate, geography and landscapes. A trekker can realize the sub-tropical region slowly changing into semi-arid region during the trek.
The tour to Tsum Valley starts with the survey in the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu and by visiting Sotikhola the next day. Sotikhola will be the starting point of our trek. Following the trail, we can view beautiful rhododendron forests, pine forests, conifer forests, and various waterfalls on our way. The scenario of the Himalayas plays hide and seeks time and again throughout the way. We will also visit monasteries like Rachen Gompa and Mu Gompa and explore the Tibetan traditions and cultures. Some of the mountains like Ganesh Himal, Siringi Himal and Boudha Himal can be viewed during this trek. This is a less-touristy area which makes the trails unbeaten, the gompas unique and the stories uncommon, as the area is less exposed.
