The hilltop village of Australian Camp boasts breathtaking views of the valleys and Annapurna Mountain range. To begin our trek, we will drive for an hour and then hike up a steep stone staircase for 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Australian Camp, situated on a ridge with stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Lamjung Himal. We will then continue our trek through a beautiful jungle trail, accompanied by the soothing sounds of chirping birds, until we reach the charming village of Dhampus, which takes around an hour. Dhampus is situated on the Annapurna trekking trail and offers majestic views of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. The village is attractive with a number of old-fashioned slate-roofed houses. This trek is perfect for those who want to experience Nepal’s mountain scenery and ethnic culture in a short period of time.
After Dhampus village, we will continue walking for an hour down to Phedi through terraced rice fields. Alternatively, we can extend this short luxury trek by spending a night at Sarangkot, a popular destination for its panoramic views of the stunning sunrise, brilliant mountain scenery, and delightful views of Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake. We can also enjoy the beautiful night lights of Pokhara city. This short trip has been categorized as a luxury lodge trek to Annapurna at the request of our valued clients.
Our trekking adventure begins after breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara, at 7:00am. We will take a one-hour private vehicle ride to Kande, which serves as the starting point for the trek. From Kande, we will embark on a pleasant walking trail to Australian Camp, which will take approximately 1.5 hours. Australian Camp is a picturesque village famous for its unobstructed views of the Annapurna mountain range, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu range, as well as its lush green hills.
Next, we will trek to Dhampus, which is approximately 1 hour from Australian Camp. The trail from Australian Camp to Dhampus is particularly lovely, as we will pass through a dense jungle. If the weather is clear, you will be able to see the Annapurna Himalayas in the background. Once we arrive in the middle of Dhampus village, we will stop for lunch. Dhampus is a typical Nepali village, and you can still enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas if the weather permits.
Finally, we will trek from Dhampus to Phedi, which will take approximately two hours down a stone stairway that has been used for generations. From Phedi, it is a 30-minute private vehicle ride back to your hotel in Pokhara.
