Pokhara is a thrilling place for those who enjoy hiking. The city is encompassed by lush green hills that provide numerous hiking destinations, and the activity can be enjoyed throughout the year. Situated atop Ananda hill, the Shanti Stupa Pokhara, also referred to as the World Peace Pagoda Pokhara, is a popular destination for hikers.
Positioned at an altitude of 1100 meters, this is Nepal’s first World Peace Pagoda. On clear weather days, visitors can witness a magnificent sunrise over the Annapurna mountain range. In addition, there are several dining options near the Stupa that offer stunning views and are perfect for a leisurely lunch.
The location provides a panoramic view of the Himalayan range, Phewa Lake, and Pokhara city, making it an ideal destination for sightseeing. Many Buddhist pilgrims climb this peak to pay their respects to the white stupa
12 PM: Our guide will meet you at your hotel for pick-up. If you are located near Lakeside, we can walk to take a boat to the opposite end of the Lake. Alternatively, if you are not near Lakeside, the guide will explain the route and provide a brief overview of the hiking trip during the taxi ride to Lakeside.
12:30pm: We will take a 30-minute boat ride to reach the starting point for hiking.
1pm: We will begin the hike to the World Peace Pagoda. The trail has several ups and downs, but it is well-travelled by tourists, making it easy to follow. During the monsoon season, the trail may become slippery and muddy. The path is steep and ascends through the forest.
2:15pm: Enjoy the tranquillity of the World Peace Pagoda and its surroundings.
2:45pm: You have the option to either hike or take a car back to Pokhara Lakeside through the Tibetan Monastery, depending on how strenuous the hike has been for you.
